Am I at risk of catching mumps?

Posting here for traffic.
I heard on the news this morning that the number of people catching mumps (along with measles) is on the increase. I'm a bit anxious as I'm certain that I didn't have mumps as a child (thanks to an overprotective DM who was paranoid about me catching the usual childhood illness). I have had chicken pox,and was vaccinated as a baby against measles, and as a teenager against rubella (German measles). I'm 55 now,and wondered if it was possible to get vaccinated against mumps now? I have quite a few other health problems (as a result of which I am disabled) and have a weakened immune system. I'm worried that I would inevitably catch it if I came into contact with it. Anyone else out there who didn't have it as a child? I seem to be in the minority!

I think you can ask your doctor to do a blood test to see whether you have immunity. And you can have the jabs if you are not.

I also wondered whether I'd have to pay for a vaccination if I needed one? I'm on ESA and PIP so don't have a hundred quid (or maybe more) to spare for it.
