Trutex Uniform, really no fabric softener?

Bought my DDs school uniform today (she’s a slow grower due to a medical condition and is still in her age 18-24m Nursery uniform at age 4 which is the same size as Trutex 1-2 (measured it) but ended up a size bigger with her so I know it’ll last and fit).

Just checking labels and it says do not use fabric softener.

This makes things awkward if I can’t use it as I use the Aldi washing powder 2 in 1 that has fabric softener built in, will I be ok using this or do I now have to spend time searching for a new washing powder? Due to DDs medical needs I have to still use the blue washing powder (non-bio I think?) so does anyone know a good one I can use?

Also will I still be able to use stain remover on it? I have OCD over stains on DDs clothes (huge history as to why but my OCD is much better it’s just this one I get upset over) and use Dr Beckmanns or similar on it. Does it depend on colour?

Completely new to this as Nursery had a different supplier for uniform. I also have no dryer or outside drying space so I use the softener to make clothes feel softer.

Or can I just use fabric softener?

One of my kids have various bits of trutex school uniform.

And I use fabric conditioner and lashings of stain remover. The reason they say not to use fabric conditioner is that it can potentially remove the anti stain coating on the uniform so does nuking the white t shirts on a 90 degree wash. Ignore the labels and carry on with what you are already doing, you don't need special school uniform only washing powder

The softener in the 2in1 is different to the liquid stuff so it will probably work just fine (think it's clay based)

You could use a water softener tablet (calgon or supermarket own) instead of softener, then you need about half the amount of detergent. I use one Aldi tablet and one per wash. The 2 in 1 tablets are fine as they don't coat the clothes like a fabric softener in the final rinse does.
