A grammatical question....

DS just writing thank you letters.... is it "Thank you for coming to mine and Edward's party", rather than "Thank you for coming to my and Edward's party?"

I feel like it should be the former, but that it sounds a bit wrong somehow?

Thank you for coming to our party....

Tableclothing · 23/05/2019 18:37

Imagine if Edward wasn't involved:

Thank you for coming to mine party
Thank you for coming to my party

Tableclothing · 23/05/2019 18:37

But Fix has a pleasing solution.

ScreamingValenta · 23/05/2019 18:38

Thank you for coming to Edward's and my party.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2019 18:40

Edward’s and my. Always put the other person first.

But “our” is easier and much shorter!

TrixieFranklin · 23/05/2019 18:44

Our is better than either, but the best of your options is my.

littlecabbage · 23/05/2019 20:24

I agree that "our" is best, but the boys are writing individual thank you letters. So "Edward's and my" it is.

Thank you all for educating me! Grin

Or - Edward and I would like to thank you for coming to our party..

cardibach · 23/05/2019 20:34

Fawn has the elegant answer.
