We just used to get kaolin and morphine and sip the little bit of morphine off the top. Can't buy it these days I wonder why

I'm sure remember codeine cough syrup being withdrawn from over the counter sale over 20 years ago.

Older relative worked in a pharmacy. KaolinMorph was rationed. One bottle only at a time. My Mum used to shake the bottle for ages - no wonder!

I had a friend who drank a whole bottle of coke then ate a pack of Mentos..they found his head 3 miles away....true story

I work in pharm and there's quite a few drug combos we can't sell together, codeine and promethazine is one of them. We had a grandparent come in to buy phenergan (promethazine) to put her granddaughter to sleep when she was babysitting

I actually don't know, I just remember some kids in the 5th year at senior school (remember those days?) got in to trouble on a residential trip for doing it! I think it just makes you feel a bit pissed.

I also remember people "borrowing" their mates' inhalers for a quick high 🤪

I see a national Tixylix shortage on the horizon.
