What in the world is this - fungal sinus infection?

Has anybody had this? Or any medics who can give any insight?

I had flu 2-3 months ago, was virtually bedbound for a couple of weeks, then still grotty for a couple of weeks after. Had the most awful sinusitis with it that went on for ages, tried all the decongestants on the market, steam inhalations etc, but nothing shifted it for ages until it gradually subsided, though the sinuses still feel quite full (and will still drain every time I bend over).

Last week I caught another cold, and so have been blowing my nose a lot. This time the snot does seem to be moving, but I am getting these weird little black streaks in the snot.

I'm pretty sure it's not old blood, as they are a true jet black, rather than a very dark brown-black. I haven't been anywhere to inhale black dust, not been on the tube etc. The black bits are long like hairs, but are the consistency of mucus, it reminds me of how eye-gunk goes when mascara is mixed in.

Dr Google suggests it may be a fungal infection, but there is very limited info. Has anybody had this? I am not immunocompromised at all, so shouldn't really be a candidate for that.

A bit baffled, but not really wanting to bother the dr if it turns out to be nothing. Been going on for about three days now.

Anybody?

Could it be make up though? When my eyes water or I cry, it ends up in my snot. Are your eyes watering a lot?

I haven't heard of a fungal infection in the sinuses but I suppose in theory the conditions are warm and moist so it's possible.

I suppose it could be makeup, though it's never happened before.

I did go to a funeral on Tuesday, and have cried a couple of times since. Hhmmm....

That is a much more palatable idea than a fungal infection.
