Terminator Limescale on shower door

I live in a VERY VERY hard water area. How, HOW, do you get the limescale off?

So far this week I have tried,
Viakal
HG scale away
Covering the shower in tissue paper and spraying with Viakal and leaving for far longer than is sensible.
A Brillo pad.

It looks clean when it’s wet then, bam, still a layer. It’s much better than it was but it’s still there.

Black harpic and a knife to get underneath it.

Yes I’m sure you’re not supposed to but I have used harpic in the past. It comes away easily. Also had to use it to clean the bath once when absolutely nothing would remove the buildup of soap scum from previous owners.

You can also buy a scraper from places like Wilco. They are designed to not scratch glass so long as you keep it flat to the surface.

STOP! Here is how to do it the proper way. (Trust me, I'm an old bird.)

Soak cotton wool or rag cloth with vinegar. Any vinegar will do so use the cheap stuff. Cover the limescale with the rag/cotton wool, cover with plastic bag or cling film to stop evaporation, and secure it. (So if you're doing a tap, bung the cotton wool around the limescale bit, put a plastic bag or a bit of cling film around it, and secure with a rubber band.) Leave for a couple of hours or overnight.

The vinegar penetrates the limescale and changes it into a kind of rubbery texture which then just slides clean off.

My boyfriend got some Limescale remover from Wickes - he looked at the ingredients, got an evil look on his face and said "This will do nicely"! Apparently its the best thing ever for removing limescale but you must wear gloves with it and have room well ventilated!
