Clear blue digital test, help!!!

On the 29th of April I took a clear blue pregnancy test and it said it was pregnant 1-2 weeks. Problem is I slept with someone else around the 15th of March..and my midwife has worked me out to be 9 weeks pregnant (so that boy would be the dad). However I’ve told my partner I’m pregnant and should be about 5 weeks along cause I believe I conceived on the 15th of April and I took the clear blue test on the 29th so it would be accurate. I had my first booking session today and my midwife believes I’m 10 weeks but with all the calculations from the clear blue test I SHOULD be 5 weeks pregnant. Please help, I really don’t know what to do. Has anyone else taken a clear blue digital test and had it go right? Or has it always come back wrong??

Have you got a scan date? Maybe go alone as the results may not go the way you hope.
Def not judging either op...

You need to add at least 2 weeks to the number on the test as they work from an estimate of conception, but the midwife will work it out based on your last period so there will always be a difference.

Clearblue are only accurate to a point and after a certain level of hcg in your system it becomes almost irrelevant how many weeks you are that it says on them

If your midwife says you are 9 weeks based on a growth scan then that's what you are - probably not the answer you want but you need to tell your partner the truth

Your midwife will most likely be measuring from the first day of your last period. Clearblue is telling you how many weeks it thinks it's been since conception.

In an average 28 day cycle that means your midwife and clearblue will give you a difference of about 2 weeks for the same baby/conception.

If you conceived 15 April and your period started 2 weeks before that, your midwife would be telling you you're about 7 weeks pregnant. Your expect Clearblue to be telling you 1-2 weeks pregnant on 29 April.

If you conceived 15 March and your period started 2 weeks before, your midwife would be telling you you're about 11 - 12 weeks pregnant. You'd expect your Clearblue to be telling you 4+ weeks pregnant on 29 April.

I expect this is to do with some confusion about your period dates and how midwives really about 'weeks' but agree with the person who said go to the first scan alone and ask your questions then. After that, there's only one way to be absolutely sure who the father is and that's DNA.

With those dates, it could be either, decide who you want the father to be, you could consider a dna test if you were honest...

Is your midwife going from a scan measurement or your last period? How has she figured out you’re further along than you believe you are? Confused

I would go for a dating scan personally, that will answer your query straight away.

You'll have to have a DNA test, it's the only way of knowing 100% who fathered your child. You can have a Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity Test but it's very expensive, or you can wait until the baby is born and have DNA testing done then for a lot less money. I guess it depends on how important it is for you (and the baby's dad) to know before the child is born. If I were you, and I could afford it, I'd definitely go for the prenatal test, then I could make whatever decisions need to be made sooner rather than later.
