Migraine and missed Gcse

My daughter got a migraine between her morning and afternoon Gcse exams She was at school but was sick and was too unwell to go in to the exam. It was the first of 3 geography exams. We will get a doctors note to send to the exam board but does anyone have any experience of what will happen with her grade? Thanks.

They can apply to have one of the remaining exams to be double weighted, so will make up for the missed one.

Ok thank you, I will ask about that

Or 11?

She needs to complete at least 25% of the subject to be able to have the paper she missed discounted and them estimate her mark. So she must do at least 1 of paper 2 or paper 3.

She's year 11. She did take her medication but it didn't work.

Given that it's not possible to sit next year then, then a predicted grade will be given. If coursework is part of the syllabus then a prediction will be given off the back of her coursework standard.

Toastie7 · 22/05/2019 21:14

She's better today, thank you and yes she made it to physics. Hope everyone elses GCSE's are going ok and not too stressful

We are still waiting for the doctors note to be ready. They said there may be a small charge, anyone know how much it will be?

I think I paid £20 - £30ish when I needed a doctor’s note for holiday insurance.

Toastie7 · 29/05/2019 12:16

Ok thank you

I paid £20 for a GP letter last year (in the south west) for adult son with special needs. That was for DWP though, so maybe more expensive.
