To come down hard on DS’s baby voice

DS is 11 and keeps speaking in the most god awful baby/sassy voice. It is driving me bonkers! His best friend does it too. He’s on the Xbox and keeps slipping into it. I’ve been ignoring it thinking he’ll stop of his own accord but I can’t listen to it anymore. I’ve given him 3 chances and then the Xbox goes off. He’s down to his last chance.

I'd pick up and give him a hug everytime I hear it ignoring the content of what he's saying. Babies need hugs right and can't play the Xbox.

My niece and nephew did this at about that age. Full on conversations in baby voices. I want to say it went on for about a year!!! So this might not be going away anytime soon. My sister just ignored it - the more she talked about/tried to stop it, the more they did it.

This thread has made me think about what I have to come with my own DC in a few years. Eeek!

The reminding is almost as tedious as the voice but I don’t want her to get picked on at school.

This is my other reason for wanting it to stop. He starts secondary in September!
