If so what are your symptons and do you use anything to help with it?

I use the Systane drops in the red bottle.

But, after 30 years of struggling, I discovered last year that I'm allergic to SLS and all foundation makeup and most face powders. I stopped using these products and now use a very sensitive skin face cleanser, moisturiser and some L'oreal face powder and my eyes are better. I can't believe it. I use shampoo bar soap on my hair.

Do you have any other symptoms? It's one of the main problems of an auto immune disorder called Sjögren's syndrome.

I’ve got dry eyes and get my eye drops on prescription, I think because I need to use them four times daily.
I also have dry mouth but Dr said it’s not Sjogren’s syndrome because it began later in life.

@MattMagnolia
That's not true. I'd seek a second opinion.

I use Clinitas Soothe drops in individual droppers. I also have corneal dystrophy and have become allergic to mascara, which pisses me off royally.

I've got cyclosporin drops and vit-a pos ointment for night and hylo forte for day time. All from Moorfields eye hospital. I'm being investigated for sjogrens

teary eyes are ironically a symptom of dry eyes.
I get it when I have a cold or hay fever.
special eye drops (supermarket shelf) really help with the itching and, most importantly, the red skin around the eyes.

My daughter (8) cannot cry tears at all. She has drops 5 times a day, tinted glasses due to the photophobia and an ointment on a night which glues her eyes shut.

MattMagnolia, was it a GP who said this?

Sounds very much like sjorgrens and usually diagnosed by a specialist. It is typical to start later and whilst it isn't a serious condition they do like to monitor plus it could he an indicative of other autominnunes as they "hunt in packs" and you rarely have one.

Omg after having my baby I have chronic dry eyes where I wake up and my eyelid are stuck to my eyes. I have visto tear drops from doctors and having surgery next week to remove a hard lump in my eyelid from them getting blocked up. I also have another. I have no idea why this is happening to me. I can also squeeze my eyelid and stuff comes out like a white head. I also have dry mouth all the time too. I have no answer from doctors even went to opticians and no one can help me understand this. Anyone have this?

I have dry eyes. Symptoms are watery eyes as soon as I go outside and photophobia. I use carbomer eye gel from GPs but it’s not helping a lot so I’ll ask for something else next time I’m there. Mine started in my late 40s. Maybe a perk-meno thing I don’t know, but I still have it 10 years on.

maybeitsjustmeor my DP has blepharitis and meibomium gland disfunction. His eyes produce virtually no tears. The blocked gland causes the white gunk. He holds a hot compress against them for 10 mins morning and night and then squeezes out the gunk 🤢. His eyes are often very red rimmed and feel gritty which is from the blepharitis. All his problems started after laser for short sightedness. You need a referral to an opthamologist as it’s too specialist for your GP to test and treat properly and it sounds really miserable.
