Strained relations

If a relative said ‘how’s his lordship doing?’ in reference to your ds, would you think that was meant kindly or as a dig?

I have a strained relationship with this person and she had been unkind to both of us. When she said it yesterday I thought she was asking about the dog to begin with!

It sounds petty but whenever Ibtry I always feel I should not bother.

It depends on the context and the tone of voice, I would happily refer to my nephew as his lordship is a joking or loving way. He’s precious and a bit spoilt :) But if if was sad nastily then the meaning is something else all together
