What's your deal breaker?

NC because I do every so often but long term poster.

Just for fun, really. When it comes to flirtations or dating (so pre-relationship), what is your deal breaker?

I have something of a crush on a man I'm friendly with and we are both single adults so there's nothing stopping it from going anywhere. However, he went to school with my mum Blush he was two years below her so he isn't quite her age, and she was a young mum, and I'm sure there are plenty of relationships with similar or larger age gaps that work very well, but I just cant bring myself to act on it knowing that he literally went to school with my own mother.

The funny thing is that I dont think I'd bat an eyelid at the age gap (15 years) if it was any other man, just not someone my mum would be able to tell me about playground antics.

Also it's entirely likely that he's not seduced by the scruffy 30 year old single mum vibe I'm giving off Grin

Anyone care to make me feel better about my doomed crushes by sharing some of their own?

Dirty teeth!

Rude to barstaff/waiters/hospitality workers in general. Rude to nurses etc would be similar.

Says all their ex girlfriends are crazy/bitches/nothing nice to say at all.

I think if a guy disliked cats,it would put me right off him. I don't mean he's got to love cats,I know they're not to everyone's liking Grin but if he actively disliked them,as opposed to being indifferent to them,it would be a deal breaker for me.
Also, someone who was fervently religious would put me off. I have no problem with someone being religious, but if they felt he need to keep going on about it,or worse still (as has actually happened to me) felt the need to try and convert me from agnostic to their religion. Just no.

Thinks women are inferior to men.
Votes conservative.

Has no interest in music.
Is obsessed with going to the gym.
Thinks if a woman is bigger than a size 12,that she is fat.
Has no discernible sense of humour.

a friend once dumped a guy because when eating out at an italian restaurant he didn't know what pesto was! Grin.

HARSH. But I always felt that if that kind of thing is important to you, then fair enough!
