How do you teach your children about dealing with an emergency?

DP has recently had some seizures, never had them before. He’s on treatment now but we have been advised he shouldn’t be left alone at the moment, which of course we are doing. However once we think he’s under control it’s not practical to have someone with him every second of the day, life will have to return to normal at some point. I work shifts, DP does childcare when I’m at work.
So inevitably at some point I’m going to have to leave him responsible for the DC (age 4 and 3).
I feel like the risk of DP having another seizure is never going to be zero and that DC need to understand how they could get help if they were alone at home with him and it happened.
But I don’t want to scare them. Any thoughts/experience how I could discuss this with them and what is best to tell them to do??

I taught them to dial 999 in an emergency-eg mummy or daddy became ill and then I had the opportunity to show them dialling 999 when we saw a car fire!
