Terrified. Bladder or ovarian cancer.

So I'm 32.

I've had ovarian pains for some time and they niggle. Make you go "oooft" when they happen.

I've been to the GP which has referred me for an ultrasound and p/v examination.

Im scared. I'm bloated. My bowels hurt. Intimacy hurts.

I'm 32. I have a son. And a husband.

We have cervical cancer on my mum's side as well as endometriosis.

How do you deal with the wait

Glad to read you're keeping the appointment. I think this needs to be looked at, even if it ends up being completely harmless.

Have you kept track of the timing of the pain? If you note the dates it might turn out to be regular. That will help you know when to expect it, once your scan results are in and you know what it is.

As Bacon says, there's not much heredity in cervical or ovarian cancers and anyway, even if your Mum or Gran had something heritable it doesn't mean you got the gene. If it were a single gene in your Gran you only have a 25% chance of inheriting it. Endometriosis is a bit more complicated because it seems to be caused by a lot of genes working together, but the likelihood of you getting the full set from your Mum isn't great and even then you'll have some from your Dad that could offset them.

The pain just seems to be morning and nighttime at the moment with some tenderness all through.

Have managed to get a cancellation for my scan on the 26th but can't see the nurse until the 3rd
