Anybody any experience to share on using contact lenses to correct middle aged long sightedness?

Just that really.

I'm getting rapidly ore and more long sighted and have resorted to Primark reading glasses. I'm interested in trying contact lenses

Thanks in advance.

I have always been short sighted - since age 7! But as I got older, I have ended up being able not to read at short distances. It's inevitable, sadly.

So now I wear mono vision contact lenses. One is for long sight and the other is for short sight. Means I don't have to wear reading glasses!

But go and talk to an optician and see what they say

I wear a lens in my left eye only for reading.

I'm 51 so definitely in the middle aged long sightedness category. I had laser correction for short sightedness when I was 36 which worked well but only corrected my vision completely until I started with prespyobia at about age 45.

Now I have monovision contact lenses. The dominant eye for distance and the other eye for reading. It's not perfect but a good compromise. I'd also consider lens replacement (i.e. the cataract operation) for a more permanent solution.
