Birthday ideas for 14yo girl

DD's birthday is coming up. She doesn't really have any ideas about what she wants, so we'll probably just end up getting her clothes or something. She isn't really that into "stuff" and doesn't have a long wishlist!

The one thing that is really important to her, however, is doing something nice with her friends. She doesn't really care what, because she just wants to spend the time with them. However, the challenge is that she has rather a lot of friends and she really doesn't want to exclude people! Nice problem to have, I know! Grin

We have discussed various options and we're struggling to come up with ideas that could include a lot of people. Our house is quite small so don't really want to invite them all over here as we wouldn't fit them in. We've discussed doing a picnic in the park or something like that, but we'd be a bit too worried about the weather.

Any suggestions?

perhaps going bowling (which loads of people can be involved in), pizza in a restaurant or at the bowling place and then closest friends back for a sleepover? (if you dont want them in the house- put a tent up in the garden. worked amazingly well for my dds 14th party) x

also don't know if she would be interested or if they are in your price range but we managed to get some airpod 1s (so the older type) off ebay like these and my daughter uses them nearly every day x

Bowling and pizza would be fab but probably not affordable for the number that she wants! Sorry, should have made it clearer that I'm keen to find ideas that keep the cost down!

I've said that she could do a meal for up to 12 of her friends but apparently that's not enough because she'd then have to exclude people who have invited her to their parties etc. So I'm looking for something that we could do fairly cheaply. It's partly a question of controlling what we spend, but dd has said that she'd rather have no present and put the money towards doing something with her friends if necessary, so I guess it's also about me not wanting to do anything that seems too ostentatious. Cheap and cheerful would be great!Grin

Do you have a garden! Camping in the garden is perfect for that age, have a bbq and mocktails. They won't care if it's raining (just switch to pizza if it is). A couple of family sized tents without the bedrooms in is sufficient, just borrow them, they all bring their own sleeping bag. For added entertainment provide manicure stuff so they can give each other manicures and pedicures.

have a look at prices for local village halls, we have quite a few around here that are really cheap to hire and have a nice outdoor space. You could set it up as a pamper room with bean bags and cushions etc and provide them with face masks, nail polishes etc. you could have netflix playing through whatever show they are into (all the teen girls I know are into Friends). They can picnic outside if the weather's good.

ooh, and you could set up some type of fancy back drop for the all essential insta pictures. There are tutorials online for making tissue paper flower walls for example

agree with above poster, scout/brownie huts are usually cheap to rent. you can set up an instagram corner ( like this with some photo props), some manicure sets, make your own pizza sets like this (since brownie halls usually have a kitchen) and if you turn the photo backgroup around to the white side you can project (using something like this) a movie onto it. would work out fairly cheap x

BTW I think she sounds lovely; she'd rather spend time with friends than have a present and she doesn't want anyone to be left out. :)
