Microblading - I’ve made the appointment

Tell me what you know about microblading eyebrows.

Last summer I did the whole chemo, surgery& radio for breast cancer. I’ve been back at work a few months, I’m rocking a tufty, grey, twink-style hairdo and eyeing up my 1 year check up in July.

All in all things are fairly positive.....except I barely have eyebrows. Have you or has someone you know had their brows micro-bladed?

Omg I just had mine done 2 days ago! I love them already. I wake up and my face looks 'done' iyswim?
I had very very sparse brows and my friends say they look great.
It was a bit uncomfortable, scratchy and stung a bit, but it was over in less than 2 hours.
The aftercare is very manageable too. If you are on Instagram, see what the journalist Sali Hughes says about getting hers done.
Good luck!

Thank you Raggle. I’ll have a look at Instagram

Best thing I ever did, beauty wise at least. As Ragglesnaggle says, wake up, and you’re ‘done’.

Not the most comfortable experience, but well worth it IMHO.
😀

I shall be watching this with interest as I'm thinking of having it done.

Had mine done a while ago. Didn't really take properly. Was told this was due to me having oily skin. It doesn't work on everyone.

Day 2 after having mine redone. They look quite dark at the moment but I know, from having them done originally 12 months ago, that they will be fine.
My brows were sparse from over plucking in my younger days. I asked that they be done "natural" rather than the big brows that seem to be the fashion and the beautician did a fab job.
The process can be a rollercoaster ride, scabbing and then fading, but they settle down to thier true colour within a few weeks. No regrets.

I had barely any eyebrows naturally, and have oily skin, so they recommended a tattoo instead of microblading. Also very happy with the result.

TinselAngel · 17/05/2019 22:17

That's interesting, because I have really oily skin. Why does it make a difference?

ooooohbetty · 17/05/2019 22:24

If your skin is oily there is more chance of it spreading (which is what has happened with one of mine), the oils in skin can prevent the microblading staying on the skin and the healing process can take longer. Also may not last as long, sometimes a little as a year. I knew I was taking a chance and next time will get a powder ombré brow.

TinselAngel · 17/05/2019 22:45

What's a powder ombré brow?

ooooohbetty · 18/05/2019 06:47

Ombré powder brows are more like a tattoo but done with dots. They go deeper into the skin than microblading which is why they last longer on oily skin. I think they look less natural than microbladed brows but for me this would be preferable to having disappearing eyebrows which was why I got them done in the first place. You can get a mixture of both ombré and microblading done.
