I have never had a bad AEG.

Avoid Samsung as they are beyond crap and the customer service is dire.

MrsPear · 17/05/2019 16:49

I’ll never buy Bosch again - according to customer service they are not suppose to used daily and that is why it broke down after 2 years Hmm
My landlord has Tika and it’s awful - no real power and it’s shirt washes don’t wash just rinse plus it’s really loud.
My beko in the garage was brilliant and I wish I could plumb it in somewhere.

roses2 · 17/05/2019 16:51

Siemens made in Germany if you can afford it. They have cheaper models made in China which are of lower quality. Five year guarantee and excellent customer service.

If you have a lower budget then LG has good reviews and the ~£350 machines have 5 year guarantee.

Angie169 · 17/05/2019 17:17

I have a indesit washer i have had it 6 ish years and its still going strong can't remember how much I paid for it but it won't have been more then a couple of £100 as I was broke at the time when I bought it so it's probably the cheapest one of the market. I didn't realise it was a thing but I now realise I have a bonus as it beeps twice when you turn it on and once but it's finishes its program it doesn't keep on beeping like some of the more modern washing machines do ( my poor neighbour has one that sounds like a constipated robot )
I also have a Indesit fridge freezer and chest freezer.

Discombobulated47 · 17/05/2019 17:21

Firemanking. Thank goodness, we've just ordered an AEG one. Our Zanussi has died after 12 years.

I would beg to diagree. I’ve had a Samsung Ecobubble for 6 years now and it’s never missed a beat. I have never used fabric conditioner in it, which is the usual ‘clogging up’ problem with washers.

It has been better than my Bosch Maxx and Indesit I had before. Only ever had three machines in 30 years.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 17/05/2019 18:32

We had an AEG washer dryer for ages, was really pleased with it.

We now have a Miele washer dryer, it had a 5 year warranty and we extended it to get a total of 10 years. It had a firmware issue on delivery but the Miele guy came the next day to sort it out. Can't grumble with that really. Not had a spot of bother with it at all.

John Lewis have Miele washing machines with a 2yr warranty, plus with an extra 3 years for free. Worth looking if they also have better warranties for other makes too??

Fairylea · 17/05/2019 18:36

I am another Samsung hater. Had both the eco bubble machine and the heat pump tumble and had so many issues with both would never buy Samsung again. Actually ended up emailing the ceo of AO where we got them from to complain and they replaced the heat pump dryer for us the next day with a Bosch which has been amazing.

Anyway ... we replaced the eco bubble with an Indesit innex and it’s been amazing.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 17/05/2019 18:39

My Samsung Ecobubble is nearly five years old. Mind you, recently the coffee machine and the Dyson have failed, so I’m fully expecting the washing machine to be the third thing.

redwoodmazza · 17/05/2019 18:40

My Miele is fantastic. My previous one was really old before it finally died - about 15 years or possibly even older. Although the replacement Miele was eye-wateringly expensive 18 months ago, over the years of its life it's not a bad investment. They are really well built and we expect this one to last for ages.
We also bought a Miele tumble drier because of the reliability of the make.
Hope this helps.

dementedpixie · 17/05/2019 18:45

I only had issues with my Samsung ecobubble at the start but the drum was replaced with no issues and it's been fine for several years now

ThomasHardyPerennial · 17/05/2019 18:48

I've got an LG - about 6/7 years old, and it has never had a problem. Mine has a 10 year guarentee. I will definitely be buying another when this one eventually carks it.

StandardPoodle · 17/05/2019 19:57

I have a Miele from John Lewis which came with a (special offer) 10 year warranty.
The build quality is far better then any other machine I've had and the performance is great.

eggsandwich · 17/05/2019 20:37

Firemanking I’m surprised at your comment about Samsung, I’ve got two eco bubble machines and prior to that have had other Samsung machines and can’t speak highly enough of them very reliable machines, can’t fault their customer service either though don’t need to ring them often as they are so reliable.

I’ve had lots of other brands over the years but now stick with Samsung, I suppose if you have a bad experience with a certain brand you don’t forget.

DontCallMeShitley · 18/05/2019 13:17

I also hate Samsung, absolute crap. Bounced around the room, engineers came back and fixed it, it travelled into the centre of the kitchen after that. Vibrated the entire room, including the walls and ceiling.

Sent it back and exchanged it for a Bosch which was the only option in stock with the features I wanted which was a larger drum an extra rinse and an allergy setting. I bought the Samsung because our last Bosch had only lasted 3 years.

Was going to buy BEKO but AO man couldn't install it because we had the wrong fittings (he had a bad back) so were told to take it away. Will never use AO again, they have gone really badly wrong.

Flyingarcher · 18/05/2019 17:13

I bought a Grundig from Curry's. It's really good and has a near full load forty min wash on it which is fine for most stuff.

Mum686833 · 18/05/2019 18:22

I paid £1200 for my samsung Ecobubble direct drive what a load of rubbish worst washer I've ever had. Expecting engineer to visit on Monday again. Go for LG!

iVampire · 18/05/2019 18:29

My last Bosch lasted nearly 2 decade. Have replaced it with another

FiremanKing · 18/05/2019 18:40

@Mum686833 I think ours was the same one. It looked smashing, all gleaming and shiny. Turned clothes to rags.

At one point I was going to get a tree branch and give it a damn good thrashing in the style of John Cleese and his car in Fawlty Towers!

During my disputes with Samsung I got an independent engineer to look at it and straight away he said oh no not a Samsung Eccobubble they are rubbish! He was not tied to any brand but said he likes Hotpoint and even the cheapest Hotpoint models were better built than Samsung Eccobubble.

CoffeeAndCakeEssentials · 18/05/2019 19:51

AEG has been the best for us. Never had a problem.
Avoid hotpoint like the plague. Nothing but trouble

PlainVanilla · 18/05/2019 20:41

Miele, they last for decades.

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 18/05/2019 20:51

My 1 year old Hoover washer dryer is shit, I can't believe the poor quality of the door catch, the weakness of the external shell and fragility of the soap drawer. Cost me £400, would not buy again. Use it about 5 times a week, it broke in less than a year (luckily just within warranty).
