Lego hobby

Does anyone build Lego as a hobby? I love Lego and love building it but I never do as it's so expensive. Is there anyway I could turn this into a hobby without it costing a fortune? I'm not that imaginative unfortunately so would need actual things and instructions to build

Over the past few years I've bought a few of the creator expert sets, which are great fun to build but, at around £150 a time, not cheap! I'm like you, I'd like to do it more but like to follow the instructions and know what I am building. I'm not good at freestyle! I had a look at a couple of Lego ideas books but they seemed a bit limited. Hopefully someone will come along with some ideas for us!

lego lasts very well so there are lots of second hand sets on ebay and I think you can still download the instructions online. but do try freestyle - the more you build, the better you get.

there might be local lego clubs you can join, or try to start one. i.e. create a facebook group, put a couple of notices on local noticeboards to invite people to join, find a venue, see what happens!

Both Dh and I love lego! We save up for big sets at Christmas, but most of the time we buy on ebay or local fb groups. There's also websites that let you build lego models online then give you a list of the pieces you used, so you can buy them or scout for them second hand etc
