4 month old won't keep covers on him

He hates having any covers on him and constantly kicks them off. Our room doesn't get below 17 degrees and he's in a babygrow so clearly isn't cold (even though I am and need a quilt & pjs!). I don't fancy putting him in a sleeping bag as I think he'd hate it as much as a cover plus probably be too warm?
Am I ok not to insist he has a cover over him? Especially now the weather is getting better?

Oh I remember my youngest doing this as a baby and still hates covers on now. I think I put him in a summer sleeping bag and left him like that. He did seem to settle better in the lightweight one.

A grobag worked well for our kicking-covers-off dd. You can get them in various togs, ie a very light one for summer. Buy one on eBay to try, so you’re not spending a fortune.

Definitely low tog grobag. Those things are great.

Just put him in a Lightweight sleeping bag?

By 3/4am even our warm house is chilly

Wasted money on the sleep bag, lo hated it more than the blanket. It's worse for babies to be too hot than cold.
Vest and pjs is enough, you could see if there are any of the winter thicker sleepsuits if your concern but I would just keep an eye out and let lo be.
My lo is 14 months now and is still kicking of the covers.
