Stupid passport question

Well aware that this is probably a stupid question. I've had a google but can't seem to find a straight answer.

DS1 is 17, about to apply for his first adult passport. Last child passport expired when he was 12. For the application form, is this still considered a renewal? Or do we need to do the 'first passport' sections as it's his first adult one? Something about those forms really confuses me every time!

I think you need to fill them in, plus it's better too give too much than too little.
If you do it online it's cheaper and it'll only let you do the bits you need to, I think they changed it so you can for a first adult now.

Sorry, doing the quiz apparently it would be adult renewal, in which case no.
I think it's changed since I last did one.

If I remember correctly, it’d be first adult passport anyway.

My Dds passports ran out last summer but I waited till March to get them as by that point they would both get adult passports. They were classed as adult renewals not a new adult.

This is exactly what I'm doing for DD, and the online thing told me it's an adult renewal. Glad to hear you had the same experience.
