Hair dressing terminology

My great aunt has asked me to book her a hair for a ‘cut and set’. What does she mean by the ‘set’? I think it’s perhaps old fashioned terminology! Thank you.

She means curlers dried underneath the hood

Isn’t it where the rollers are put in and “set” with chemicals and heat? The salon will know exactly what she means!

Is that where they use rollers to curl their hair when it's wet and then sit under the drier? Gives the hair curls without having a perm

My granny has had a shampoo and set every Friday afternoon for decades. I’ll kind of miss the hairstyle when that generation is gone Grin
