Spray on hair remover

12 year old dd has started to want to remove the hair on her legs and underarms. She's been using hair removing cream so far which works well but it's soooo messy especially on larger areas like legs.

She has ASD and struggles with this sort of thing so I have to put it on for her and remove it before she goes in the shower.

Has anyone used the Veet spray on hair removing cream? Thought that might be more efficient for legs.

I've suggested waxing but she has a very low pain threshold and won't entertain the idea.

What about the in shower stuff,? Tbh dd just shaves hers

sleepismysuperpower1 · 15/05/2019 18:37

I have used it but it took nearly one can and a half to cover dd's legs at that age and I felt it was better value for money to use the liquid stuff. she now does it by herself, but uses this hair removal cream. it comes with a spatula thing but she doesnt use it, instead she rubs it off with a face cloth (flannel) and water which makes it quicker and easier to remove. all the best x

How does she apply it sleep?

Not keen on shaving and I don't think dd will be either. She hates getting even a tiny cut which is inevitable and it's very high maintenance in any case.

she squeezes some out onto the palm of her hand and rubs it onto her legs x

An electric razor won't hurt, and is difficult to cut yourself with. Do you think she could use one of those?

Have you tried the mits?

They remove hair easily

Absolutely no cuts using the mits!

It's a thought azul But she has quite dark hair and I can see it doing daily. I wax myself as the results last such a long time but I can understand why she doesn't want to. At least the cream lasts a week or two.

Oh they look interesting fireman do you have to rub quite hard? Does it hurt?

I got chemical burns from the spray on. I had raw lines on my legs where I had directly sprayed it. I used to use the mits but they give me rash now so always do a test in advance.

What about an epilator? Can be a bit nippy but very unlikely to draw blood.

I first encountered the mits when my daughter wanted to remove hair from her legs at quite a young age and I didn’t trust her with a razor and felt creams might be too harsh.

She used them with great success and they can be used as gently or as roughly as you like.

I never used them back then but have used them in recent years as an excellent exfoliating as I love a fake tan!

I use them quite roughly to remove skin cells but you can just gently use them in a circular fashion to remove hair.
