I'd like to get down to 9st after my baby is born in the next few weeks. Just wondering, if you weigh around this, what do you eat on an average day?

Toast for breakfast. Several cups of tea and glasses of water through the day. Soup for lunch. Something like salmon with veg and noodles for dinner. I don't snack much usually but am 6wks pp and tandem feeding so will usually have a piece of fruit a couple of times a day.

Sorry to be unhelpful, but you might not get the answers you need from your question. Weight can depend on a variety of factors, including height, basal metabolic rate, body composition (fat/muscle etc.) and activity levels.

NamelessGem · 15/05/2019 17:12

I’m 9.5st would like to get down to 9 but I’m a snacker...

A typical day is - a bagel and cup of tea for breakfast.
Poached eggs on white toast for lunch (another cup of tea) and a kit Kat
Packet of crisps afternoon time
Dinner but a smaller portion than everyone else - spag bol, fishcake and chips, Caesar salad, pasta bake or roast dinner are our staples.
Then something sweet and a last cuppa before bed!

Snack on fruit, graze stuff and some chocolate

Scion457 · 15/05/2019 17:14

Depends on the height surely? I weigh 9 stone but I’m only 5ft2.

Breakfast-rice crispies, apple
Mid morning-crisps, cereal bar
Lunch-stew,soup, risotto
Tea-roast,cottage pie,spag bol

Drinks-tea or water

SorrelForbes · 15/05/2019 17:15

I don't eat until lunchtime. I have soup or tuna salad (no dressing) for lunch with a Hartley Kelly pot. I usually have a biscuit mid afternoon. For dinner I have grilled fish, chicken, turkey or pork with salad or vegetables. Sometimes I have spag, curry or similar but have vegetables instead of the pasta or rice. Yoghurt for pudding. I tend to have a snack of chocolate, a biscuit etc.around 9pm and a G&T!

PurpleDaisies · 15/05/2019 17:15

How tall are you?

duplodancer · 15/05/2019 17:15

Banana or grapefruit with a milky coffee for breakfast
Biscuit and tea mid morning
Salad lunch
Piece of toast and tea mid afternoon
Normal dinner but not a big carb fan so will replace that with veg / salad eg bolognaise and salad or roast chicken with veg
Tea and some chocolate or another biscuit last thing

BigDamnHero · 15/05/2019 17:15

I think I'm currently a couple of pounds over nine stone but I don't have a diet to which anyone should aspire right now.

I typically have a smallish breakfast/lunch/brunch around 11am (fried egg sandwich or scrambled egg on toast.

Then, I have a small dinner at 6pm (this can vary a lot - pasta and pesto, vegetable stew, pizza, salad etc. - but not a very big portion).

But, then I binge on chocolate/crisps/cake in the evening.

Being nine stone does not necessarily make you healthy.

User11011 · 15/05/2019 17:25

2 weetabix with semi skimmed milk and raspberries, 2 coffees
Leftovers for lunch eg pasta bake, spag bol, curry, veggie chilli. Or I might cook an omelette or pasta.
Dinner might be something like the above or casserole, steak/salmon with homemade potato wedges and lots of veg. Roast chicken with nice bread and salad.
Snack on fruit. Cup of tea in the afternoon. Occasionally some dark chocolate after dinner.

sleepwhenidie · 15/05/2019 17:27

Bonkers question! Confused

Iggly · 15/05/2019 17:28

You want to lose weight when you may not have fully recovered from birth?

Seriously, I would go easy on yourself!!!

Strawberrylaceaddict · 15/05/2019 17:34

I’m 5ft 5 and weigh just under 9st. Porridge for breakfast, usually a skinny latte not long after. Something simple for lunch e.g chicken breast and cous cous or a wrap. I usually then have a chocolate bar or similar after work and a huge portion for dinner, of something like spag bowl, chicken Kiev, pie etc. I have a sweet tooth so will be biscuits or jelly etc in the evening. I’m always on the go and I think I have a fast metabolism because whilst I eat that way mon-fri I definitely eat a lot more at the weekends!

Bigkingdom · 15/05/2019 17:36

I would say just eat healthily. Don’t worry what everyone else is eating! After having a baby you need to keep your energy levels up so eat plenty of fruit, veg, meat, fish etc. If you still really want to lose weight i would wait until you have fully recovered from the birth. First things first.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 15/05/2019 17:37

Iggly no, I want to lose weight but not in any rush. It's my second baby, due next week but obviously could be up to 3 weeks until he/she is here. I'm letting myself recover then slowly start work on losing weight I gained during my first pregnancy. Intending to do it slowly and steadily but just curious at what people who are at this weight typically eat.

9 stone 4 and 5 ft 7 here. Most days are similar...
One slice of toast and boiled egg for breakfast
crisps for snack
salad for lunch
jacket potato with cheese and beans/coldslaw/spinach for dinner
Glass of wine and sometimes a bit of chocolate for supper.

PurpleDaisies · 15/05/2019 17:53

But nutty, someone of 5ft1 and 5ft10 would be vastly different at 9stone. Someone who exercises a lot will eat more.

How tall are you?

frenchonion · 15/05/2019 17:53

Today I ate an egg sandwich, two sticks of twirl, beans on toast and 3 energy drinks and a mars icecream . Not a very healthy day 😂 I don't really eat regular meals though and tend to small snack. I need to address this!

sleepwhenidie · 15/05/2019 18:01

Purpledaisies is right, what someone of 9 stone eats means absolutely nothing in isolation, it can't tell you anything at all. A 5ft person could be eating the same as a 6ft person and the amount of exercise they do, their age, their metabolism, their health could be totally different!

Mumof1andacat · 15/05/2019 18:01

I am 5ft. 9st pre ds was size 10. Post baby is size 12 at 9st! Small bowl of cereal (fruit and fiber or 2 weetabix with skimmed milk) lunch small sandwiche, packet of crisps, cereal bar, yogurt maybe fruit. Dinner your usual thing (spag bowl, roast) drinks are one or two teas, water, squash or diet coke. Might have another cereal bar in the evening. we very rearly have takeaways and I'm practically tea total.

PrincessLouis · 15/05/2019 18:18

Breakfast - muesli + one piece of fruit
Lunch - soup or one poached egg on toast + one piece of fruit
Supper - normal stuff like spag bol, roast, stir fry (normal portion size but no pudding)
Watching TV before bed - two bits of fruit
Try not to snack, prob have a lovely big bit of cake once a week

damekindness · 15/05/2019 18:31

I've always been roundabout that weight - tend to rarely eat breakfast, often miss lunch and start eating early evening.

squirrelonapetridish · 15/05/2019 18:42

Porridge and fruit or eggs and toast/ veggie bacon for breakfast.
Usually salad or soup for lunch if at work.
Dinner is usually something vegan or veggie (attempting veganism as much as possible). Just bought the Green Roasting Tin from Amazon, some delicious and easy vegan and veggie meals in there.
Also snack a fair bit throughout the day (dark chocolate, homemade oat bars, nakd bars, sometimes crisps...) We have also stopped drinking so much which has helped with weight loss.

squirrelonapetridish · 15/05/2019 18:44

Should have said, am 5'4.

MitziK · 15/05/2019 18:47

How much do you normally weigh?

When I weighed 9st (I'm 5'6"), I ate a single slice of dry toast with half a tin of diet baked beans in the morning, nothing through the day and a diet vegetarian ding dinner in the evening, topped up with a crusty roll with a banana mashed up in it when I was feeling tired at work. Which is obviously not healthy for anybody; I was very anaemic (Hb of 4.2) and on the edge of a full blown eating disorder - which I realised when I lost another stone through serious illness (meningitis) and found myself trying to work out what needed to be cut out to keep going into the sevens.

My natural, healthy weight was significantly more than that.
