I have mountains of it and the dcs are done with it
I have a lot of instruction books but probs not all
And 2 Lego boxes like pic below?

Should I try and sell as a job lot?
I have 4 boxes (containers) altogether?

Do your research - it is highly collectable so don't sell it cheap.

And bear in mind that if you stick it in the loft it will be worth one heck of a lot more in several decades' time.

GlossyTaco · 15/05/2019 15:35

Music magpie will take it.

PineappleTart · 15/05/2019 15:43

Can sell mixed boxes as per weight. Ka-ching! $$

check out eBay. job lots of Lego sell well.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 15/05/2019 16:43

Some sets can be worth more sold complete.
The only sets that truly increase in value are collectable, complete rarer sets.
If it's just a load of Lego city type stuff selling by weight is easiest.

TheInvestigator · 15/05/2019 16:44

If you're selling retired sets which are complete with instructions then you can sell them for quite a lot.

If you just have loads of random pieces then sell it by the kilo.

CabbageHippy · 15/05/2019 17:02

No pic attached - I may be interested for DSS

MozzchopsThirty · 16/05/2019 07:25

It's all random which is a shame because the millennium falcon is on there somewhere

But if you have the books you can make the sets up again. Like the Falcon and the AtAt.

BeesKneesAreBetterThanMine · 18/05/2019 11:08

Isn't the falcon really expensive? I'd definitely try to get the pieces together and sell as a set.

Oliversmumsarmy · 18/05/2019 11:13

If you don't want to put it together I would put it on eBay. Mention you have booklets and boxes and maybe have a higher starting prices or reserve.

Lots of people buy these sorts of "collections" make them up and sell them on

Whatsnewpussyhat · 18/05/2019 22:31

Not all of the millennium falcon sets valuable. Only the collector ones.
The more child friendly versions may hold some value and will sell for more as a set than a box of random parts.

magoria · 18/05/2019 22:54

Yes. I sold what I had on gumtree for a couple of £100. I did have all the original boxes and manuals though.

TattiePants · 19/05/2019 13:44

@MozzchopsThirty it might be too late and you've already listed it but if you know you have Star Wars Lego sets then I'd consider trying to make the sets back up and sell them as complete sets. It took me a couple of days but I sorted out 20 sets of DS's SW lego before Christmas and sold them for £550 in total. Most of the sets were discontinued and many sold for more than their original cost. I listed another 4 sets last night and hoping to make another £150+.

There is a website where you can order spare lego parts if you are missing bits.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 19/05/2019 13:50

Brickowl or bricklink for spare pieces.

TreacherousPissFlap · 19/05/2019 13:52

Selling as sets can be really lucrative for older sets, I sold one a couple of years ago for £150 Confused

It is however a mine field, and I became embroiled in a dispute with a woman who purchased a set from me which she claimed was on brick missing. I had checked all the sets personally and was sure there wasn't one missing, but apologised with good grace and offered to send her a replacement (it was a small white brick with two knobbles, hardly a rarity)

She went berserk, claimed the brick would not be "of the same vintage", that I was a dishonest seller, that I had deliberately set out to rip her off etc. While I gathered my thoughts and decided how best to approach the situation, she gave me glowing feedback and never mentioned it again- to this day I remain as baffled as I was back then!
