Any left-field ideas for selling a flat that nobody wants to buy?

Flat has been on the market since December. Now on with a second agent. In that time we've had six or seven viewings and no offers. There are four or five others in the same block (all virtually identical) up for sale. We've already dropped our price so it's one of the two cheapest, despite being in good condition, but just nobody will come and look. I'm losing the will to live a bit!

NB: this is mostly a rant - I realise it's unlikely that anyone has a magical house-selling secret. But worth a try...

If you don’t need to move I’d take it off the market until Brexit is resolved. Two little kids are usually more than happy to share a room. You may gain thousands just by waiting another year. (The glut may be caused by the exit of non-local buyers).

Just thinking that the sort of person who wants a two bed ex council flat is highly unlikely to be able to come up with a twenty three grand deposit and bang out over a grand a month on repayments.

Mitzi this is Surrey.

It looks clean and well presented if not a bit featureless.
I’d be wary of 7 flats for sale in one building. Have you tried a different agent? There are some that specialise in fast sales.

Looking at the accidental link I think that’s part of the problem. The other flat is a lot more appealing , nicer kitchen and bathroom , much more modern looking.

Compared to some of the other flats, yours looks a bit bland (sorry), I think someone above mentioned 'featureless'. I guess there's nothing that makes it stand out from the rest and as all the others are identical layouts, it is very easy to choose any of them to put an offer in on.

I agree that the zebra one looks really polished and modern.

Thanks @Dowser that's very kind Smile - I will report back!

It does look a bit featureless in the photos. We bought it from DH's Gran, totally gutted it, put in new kitchen and bathroom etc- but the plan was then to sell it on which has kept being postponed. I've never really felt settled here so haven't really put many pictures up, or decorated beyond the initial magnolia. And we cleared most of our daily clutter out of the way for the pictures. But yes now now it's been lived in for two years it mostly just looks a bit bland and tired.

OP I'd buy yours over the zebra one! It's far too modern and grey for me.

Your issue is definitely having so many for sale in one block. It looks like there's something dodgy.

Love the big blueish rug!
(misses point of thread)

The frame above your sons bed made me focus on that rather than room size, maybe a bit cluttered so looks smaller. Looks better size on floor plan. An interesting mirror, picture or contrasting colour in bathroom could make it more interesting.

Love you lounge/diner.
