Flying to Dubrovnik for 10 days - where to stay

So this will be my 4th time to Croatia (i'm a fan) and last time we went we got the ferry to Lopud and stayed there for 10 days and then a few days in Dubrovnik which was lovely. I'd like to do something different this time (still with a couple of nights in Dubrovnik). I like the look of both Korcula and Cavtat but worried about lack of beaches. I'm really happy with pebbles but rocky beaches are not so much my thing.

I'm there with DC (11 & 9) who love being in the sea and I love lying on a beach with a book. Are there any other islands anyone would recommend? We won't have a car.

TIA

There are some beautiful beaches in Montenegro, Ulcinj in particular. Bus links from Dubrovnik too!

Thank you - I hadn't thought of Montenegro. I'll take a look.

Stayed in Cavtat (they pronounce it Savtat!!) last year and although the beaches are like you say it was a fantastic place to stay. Lovely little harbour-side restaurants etc. and there are roped off areas in the cove for swimming. Easy to get small ferry across the bay to Dubrovnik or bus around, and I know you said you won't have a car but the roads are good and it's easy to drive into Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Brilliant - it does look lovely, it's just the lack of beaches.

Veliki Žali beach, Brsečine is a beautiful pebble beach in a secluded cove, with crystal-clear waters and lovely views of the Elafiti Islands. There’s free parking, a restaurant and watersports activities, and you can rent sun umbrellas and chairs. It’s 20 minutes by car from Dubrovnik.

Hotel Bellevue in Dubrovnik has a nice little pebble beach with a beach bar and sunbeds. We were only there for 3 nights but it’s a lovely hotel and the restaurant food was excellent. It’s about 15 minutes walk to the city walls but that didn’t bother us to be out of the way on cruise ship day!

Cavtat is gorgeous, the north’s more of a pebble beach than the south.

Budva in Montenegro would also be doable
