Pensioner Joy Worrall killed herself after STATE pension was frozen.

She was on pension credit and received an inheritance back in 2014 which she reported.

Then in 2017 they stopped her state pension and pension credit when it should only have been the latter which should have been adjusted.

No civil servant would have done this intentionally. It is a consequence of ridiculously low staffing levels resulting in he / she who shouts loudest getting dealt with to the detriment of more routine work and procedures. The number of staff do not fit the work. It is constant fire-fighting. The surprising thing is that this doesn't happen more often. Nothing can be done - the public generally despise all civil servants in front line roles and this allows the government to cut and cut and cut.
