Any ideas what I can do with this? I've been growing it for years and don't have it cut too often so now it looks really dry and lifeless. I'm getting married soon so don't want to get loads cut off but I need it to look good! Blush

could you get an inch cut off the bottom and then use this hair mask 2 times a week? all the best and congratulations!

You REALLY need to trim off at least 6 inches. More would be better. Your hair will still be quite long, but most importantly it will look so much better. There is no point in having super long hair that looks so damaged.

How are you planning on having it for your wedding? It looks as though it could do with a few inches off the bottom, I’m not talking about getting it all chopped off, still below bra strap. Deep conditioning treatments, doesn’t need to be expensive stuff, your usual conditioner left on for a few hours, say if you’re just at home on a Sunday, shampoo, towel dry then work conditioner through the leanths, twit it up in a clip and rinse later in the day. No amount of conditioner will get rid of split frizzy ends so a good cut is a must. Smile

I agree, you need a good six inches off to make it look healthy.

A good trim and then a beach waves perm.

If you want to keep the length, you don’t need to do a drastic chop. You can self-trim a small amount regularly, ie. 1 inch monthly. There are various methods. But obviously that will take a while to achieve - what do you want for your wedding, long, or healthy-looking ends?

6 inches?! :O I knew I needed a bit off but I was thinking more like a couple inches. I've already dreamt of having really long lush hair but even with regular cuts I just can't keep it looking good. But you're right I'd rather it look nice than have it long which is why I'm finally gonna do something about it. Hoping a fresh colour might make it look a bit better too and shiny. I need to do some conditioning treatments but I just never end up doing it

With hair as long as yours, 6 inches is nothing. The fact is, due to their hair type, some people can't have super long and healthy ends. It will look so much better and much more sophisticated if you get a good chop. Nothing can undo or hide damaged hair. Also, taking of length will give your hair more movement and volume.

Another thing, when you get your hair cut, are they using a straight razor?

FiremanKing · 10/05/2019 19:22

It takes second to use a spray leave in conditioner!

I use Percy & Reed overnight recovery and their balm as well as their shampoos and conditioners

I don’t understand why you’re not bothered about taking care of your hair? You look after your face and body don’t you?

Give your hair some love!

Gertie75 · 10/05/2019 20:20

You can see where it starts looking straggly, a good 6-8" need to come off and it'll look much better, I love the colour though.

For the wedding how about a tousled half up half down?
