I just stole a bag!

Shock Mother's Day at the weekend so DM and MIL are coming for lunch. Picked up two gift bags in the shop as I figure they both have to receive the same gift from us. Scanned and put in the shopping bag, got home and unpacked and realised I have three. Cost £2.65. Do I: Take one back on Tuesday? Go to the shelf and scan one but don't take it on Tuesday? Keep my stolen goods on the basis I spend £250+ there each week and give 'the stolen one' as a gift this weekend ?

I once accidentally stole a pack of mini babybel which had slipped into the packaging of a toy I was also buying and I realised when I was unpacking.

I decided to forget about. But I did feel a frisson of excitement, I’d never taken anything before, or since.

Hang it on the bedpost for the Mothers Day fairy to fill

Grin I am going to hang a bag up for the Mothers' Day Fairy to fill on Sunday, after I tell OH and DD about it

op if your conscience is pricking you take it back on Tuesday but otherwise at that small price I wouldn't bother

Being me, I'd take it, explain to the person in charge and pay for it or return it to the shelf if I didn't need it.
Most likely, they'd tell me to forget it.

Mother's day - mothering sunday - in the UK was orginally a religious festival - it always falls on the 4th sunday in Lent which is why we never have the same date for mothers' day.

My dc saw it down as Mother's Day on the calendar. Should have kept quiet and had another day of spoiling!!

If it bothers you then ask them to charge you for the card when you next go in. When dc1 was little he liked to hold an item of shopping when we were getting food. I walked out of the shop and realised he was holding a large slice of watermelon. I felt lazy so just continued packing him into the car and asked them to charge me for two the next time.

Oh God I did this once with Tescos knock off angel delight. I self scanned 3 and picked up 5. Didn't realise until I got home.

What made it worse was my cousin was that particular stores security guard. I immediately rang him and offered the 18p. He declined but has never let me forget it 😂

I felt bad for stealing a TV Choice magazine. It was under my arm and I forgot to pay for it!!
