Mesh ergo and summer baby carriers

I've hired a mesh ergobaby adapt from a local sling library because we have a stretchy wrap but it's really warm and it will be horrible in the warmer weather (fingers crossed we haven't had it all yet) and on the tube but it's just not comfy for me the seat adjustment tabs dig in to my hips front carrying and the shoulder straps are too long and bulky when back carrying Sad

I borrowed a normal fabric ergo (it's softer) from a friend and that's better on my hips but the shoulders are still iffy and I think it will be too hot

I really like that the ergo doesn't drag all over the floor when taking it off or putting it on unlike the stretchy and it's much cooler.

I also tried either a Connecta or Integra - not sure which - but while it felt nice front carrying, was out because the straps dug in my boobs where the webbing was sewn when back carrying Confused. The woman at the library said my baby was in between sizes for the brand I didn't try atm so maybe I could try the bigger one for when she's bigger.

I'm starting to eye a ring sling in linen or something but I'll go back to the sling library and see what else they have to try.

Has anyone else had the hip problem with an ergo?
Which baby carriers do you like fore summer?

I have an ergo for the winter and a mesh Tula for the summer months. The Tula fits beautifully and comfortably, I'd wear it year round except it was a gift and is in a garish print and I prefer my black ergo for vanity reasons Grin

Mmm the prints, I don't dooooo prints I'll have a nice plain navy/grey/black thanks.

Tula is on my try list, I think, after some googling but the woman at the sling library was quite convinced I need crossed straps as I'm not very big (5'4" but slim, 26" waist pre baby and my clothes mostly fit again now).

I'm 5'4 with a 23" waist (24" lately as I keep overeating with boredom) and I find it fine to wear for hours. I've even done a 16 mile hike it in.

That's interesting, you're small too, might see if I can get my hands one one of those to try then.

For now I've been back to the library and swapped the ergo for a connecta (I think) which was fine on my back when the other wasn't BUUUUUT it's in a print 😂

I’m 5’3” and had a Tula for most wearing and it was good. For the summer/holiday in Florida I had a connecta solar and it was great.

I'm 5ft and at one point was 8 1/2 stone and I've used a Tula for about 4 years. I recommend trying it, I've never found a more comfortable carrier. It does come in plain black too.
