Thanks in advance...
Just wondering if there's a way to stop a tooth being wobbly?
I've seen stories over the years about teeth being knocked out and popped back in, and surviving, so hoping there's something I can do to help.
I have a wobbly tooth. I'm trying really hard not to wobble it or eat on it, brushing it really carefully but just wondering if there's anything more I can do? I have never had good teeth - few years ago I had an abscess that I went to a local emergency dentist to get help with, he talked me into removing the tooth. Even though he said he was gentle and that if I felt anything, I just needed to stick my hand up if I felt any pain, the tooth didn't pull out easily as he was expecting, so he started yanking around. I felt him pushing hard on another tooth as he was doing it, so stuck my hand up, he ignored it and carried on, managing to crack the good tooth next to the abscess tooth before he was finally done
.
I have subsequently found a great new dentist several years ago, who sorted everything out but wasn't eventually able to save the cracked tooth (which had basically been split in half), so I had a space with two teeth missing.
A few days ago I must have eaten something hard as I realised the tooth next to the space was a bit wobbly, and it's not getting better. My lovely dentist has retired and I have an appointment booked for my next check up in 10 days time, she is away at the moment so I can't see her any earlier. Around the same time, I had a filling drop out, so had managed to get an appointment to get that sorted with a different dentist at the practice but when I asked for advice on what to do, he wouldn't say, just said I needed a proper appointment.
I know I need a proper appointment - I wasn't expecting him to fix it, but at the same time, it would be good to know if there is anything I can do that will help = would different toothpaste or mouth wash do anything for example? Anything else? The dentist doesn't have any more appointments left until after my own new dentist comes back from holiday so I wasn't able to book another appointment. And the only other emergency dentist that I'm aware of locally is the one that I had been going to and had problems with (and have subsequently discovered other people that have fallen for the professional looking surgery but ended up with long term problems/consequences after going to the dodgy dentist).
I'm just really worried - I don't want to lose another tooth especially as it is closer to the front of my mouth so would be noticeable.
I've never had great teeth but over the last year or two thought that I had finally got everything sorted out, so this happening has been a bit of a shock to the system.
If you've got this far, many thanks and I'm hoping that you know of some magic wand that might work!
