Teenage spots. What treatment?

My ds14 has started to get quite a few spots. What should he use to clear them up and prevent future spots? Is clearasil ok or is it a bit harsh?
Thanks

My DC use Clean and Clear products. Great range. the sensitive skin foaming gel wash is good, as it isn't abrasive, but does clear up spots and the spot treatment gel rapid version is good. if the gel goes on as soon as there's a break out, it reduces swelling and redness. Overnight, just dab spots with TCP.

Neither go to the doctors. Prescription acne treatments save years of misery

I second going to the doctors. Nothing will be as effective as what they prescribe. Dd14's acne is clearing up nicely with a prescription of Duac. I wish we had gone sooner!

Acnecide has worked brilliantly for me and my 13 year old son.

Honestly just go to the doctors. Get some gel. If not some antibiotics. I suffered for YEARS until I finally had to take accutane. It Ruined my confidence as a teenager, when others were happy out falling in love etc. It’s a bastard.

Yes maybe the drs - but is it acne or hormonal spots.
There are many a spot treatment he can and should try before going onto medication

Also came on to say Acnecide. I use it for acne on my back, used it every day for about a week which cleared it up, and now use it preventatively a couple of times a week.

Yep, acnecide over the counter - I used to use PanOxyl but it’s not available any more

I’d also recommend some Ordinary products: salicylic acid, niacinamide and azaleic acid
