Has anyone had any success with fussy eaters using Get Your Kids to Eat Anything by Emily Leary?

So fed up of the kids being stuck in a food rut.

I make different things, but they won’t eat it, and then I get annoyed at the food waste, so go back to the same old favourites.

It’s got some good reviews, wondering if it’s worth giving it a go?

I bet this is the book my mum recommended to me the other day. My elder child eats a great variety of food, can’t get enough fruit and veg, but my younger child is a classic veg-refuser with a fairly dull diet (loves plain pasta amongst other things).

I haven’t tried to expand her diet for ages but I know what you mean about a food rut, I get so bored with it as well. Maybe I should give it a go? I just never expect anything to work, she’s so determined to hate anything unfamiliar ...

Sorry @Junefrombethesda I forgot I’d posted this!

She’s got quite a social media following and good reviews, but her description of strawberries and cream pasta is putting me off - is that heat I’m going to be reduced to?!

Hello! Thanks so much for your interest in my book and I'm sorry that I'm only just seeing this thread. Who knows if you'll see my reply?!

The strawberries and cream pasta is very tasty but it IS weird. It's supposed to be. The reason is that it comes in Phase 4, by which time you've already spent a few weeks gradually encouraging your kids to be more adventurous with ingredients and flavours through activities, games and more.

So by the time you get to this recipe (it's probably the strangest in the book), you as a family are all actively trying to explore weird and wonderful combos. It's all about getting away from that 'it's not familiar so I won't like it' mindset that kids often have.

Funnily enough though, I've made it at live events and 'fussy eaters' have wolfed it down without hesitation, which goes to show if ever proof were needed that kids are unpredictable!
