I tried Cailler chocolate at Christmas and it’s the most amazing chocolate I’ve tried does anyone know where I can get any in the U.K. ? Have tried searching online but no luck

I'm always interested in chocolate, so I had a look.
I can get Cailler (Nestlé) in at least two shops in Berlin, so I assume you'll get it via London?

Chickenpie9 · 07/05/2019 19:35

I’m in Scotland I’ve never even been to London so not sure if there are Swiss food shops there or not

It is really rare - I'd have to go to the KDW to get it.
But - there must be a place, because I found this piece of news from 2015:
"Nestlé will now sell Cailler chocolate in the United Kingdom, Germany and United States, with China distribution beginning in mid-November"

Main distributor: amazon
Sorry I could not help and thank you - I've discovered a new brand to try Smile

I got it from amazon Germany just before Christmas but there’s nothing on there anymore at normal prices hopefully it comes back soon

I think I'll make a detour from work to the KDW and see what's there.

I am currently testing the chocolates from Rausch
www.rausch.de/schokoladenhaus - expensive so I eat less, and without all the trash they put into chocolate nowadays.

I’m really fed up with British chocolate at the moment it’s just over sweet and not nice at all

I've found that big brand chocolate has deteriorated massively.
So either it is very simple chocolate (aldi or penny) for me or chocolate made by real chocolatiers - expensive but without soja, palm oil, and other stuff, that does not really belong.
They've started selling Cadburry's (sp?) here, but MN has made me reluctant to try it.

Have you tried the Milka range? All of the Edeka supermarkets seem to have it on promotion at the moment. The raspberry one is particularly nice.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/05/2019 17:23

Last time I looked Milka contained palm oil - otherwise the price is tempting. There are chocolate brands that use certified palm oil, but Milka does not display the label.

scaryteacher · 08/05/2019 17:51

Depends which Milka you buy - not all have palm oil in them. Ritter is excellent, as is Lindt.

The L'Atelier stuff from Nestle/Cailler is good.

@Chickenpie9 I got a free chocolate bunny on a stick with my abel and cole box at easter. It was made by cocoa loco and was absolutely delicious. Still milk chocolate, but really rich, like they had only used the necessary ingredients.

Chickenpie9 · 08/05/2019 19:38

I will keep an eye out for that brand another favourite of mine that I think is only available near Christmas is Lindt les Pyreneens it’s like small chocolates wrapped in silver foil and they taste best if you put them in the fridge they’re amazing !
