Career change advice needed desperately.

Hi guys, I’ve recently accepted a job, an office job, I currently work in retail. I need advice from anyone who’s done the above.

I feel this is the right thing, I’ll finally have 9-5 job, no weekends, a professional career. But what if I hate it, what if I find it too difficult. There’s no going back. I’m not very good at making decisions so I really need all the help I can get.

Thank you.

You've already made the decision you accepted the job for all the reasons you said
Stop worrying and enjoy not working weekends (I'm ex reta myself)

Of course there is the opportunity to change your mind if you decide you can't get on with the new job, so don't worry. Just say to yourself that you will give it a few weeks to see how you get on. If things are difficult, then ask someone for help, or for some training so you can get to grips with it. They have chosen you over loads of other people to do the job, so they clearly like you and think that you will do well.
Best of luck Smile

Embrace the positives. Theres lots that make it a great move and what if you love it, are great at it? Go in and fully embrace it. Learn and take any training on offer. Do your very best.

They have appointed you and I suspect the field was competitive knowing how many applicants we have had for vacancies. So youve been picked as best candidate. No reason currently to think you arent exactly that!

Good luck!

Not working weekends is amazing. Amazing. The job will be great purely for that! Smile and you can do it!

We recently had over 200 applicants for an administrator type role. If you got the job, they saw something in you that they are confident will be a good fit for the job and the team - really well done! Keep a notebook / computer doc of key things you learn and will need to remember, and another list of things you want to ask about. They will expect you to need time to learn things, so try not to worry.
