What do you do on your day off?

My kids are grown up so no childcare now.
It's my day off and I'm messing around and getting nothing done. What a waste, I'm going to shake myself soon.
There's no animals to tend to, just myself to occupy and I'm doing nothing!!! Lazy bugger 😣😣

I'm really impressed with the number of people that spend their spare time doing chores. I really can't be arsed and normally do that when the kids are doing their homework.

@YoYoYumYum - did you learn piano as an adult? I've often wondered if it is very much harder?

Day off? Hahahaha. My children are adults but two have extra needs. I am exhausted most of the time. But DH and I share the care so we get time off. Today I had a coffee and bought groceries.

Usually house stuff or go for a coffee, get done jobs done, banking etc. but if I am off then I collect the DC straight from school so I don’t have to pay for Afterschool and I can do something with them so they are home at 12 and 1.20 on my day off. So it’s not a day off really it’s 3 hours max 😂😂

@LonelyTiredandLow Yes I started learning the piano at the grand old age of 42. I learnt guitar as a child so when I started learning piano, reading the bass clef was tricky and frustrating but persevering and practising a little almost every day has helped.

I totally recommend learning a musical instrument. It's incredibly satisfying, exercises the brain, can't think of any problems whilst concentrating hard on the notes and it's like your own project which no one can take away from you. Also, you can improve with age - not something that can be said for much else!

Go for it and good luck!

Housework
Pop out to supermarket, look round charity shops, post office etc
Meet a friend for coffee, drop in on someone for an hour.
Potter in garden
Sewing
Sleep
Things I'd do if I didn't have a chronic illness: long walk in countryside, swimming, yoga, cooking new things.

I need a hobby thats free and takes little effort. Maybe train spotting? Blush
