Can anyone explain why people do this?

Post pictures of waiting in A&E, then post a picture of cannulas in arm, then post a pic that they are still in A&E 9 hours later, then post pic of them in bed at home with a message saying "thanks for all the messages, I will reply when I'm feeling up to it" but doesn't actually say why they were in there in the first place. Why do people do this? I have now unfollowed, just found it a little ott tbh. Is it just me??

They do it for attention, seems very sad to be thinking about likes and retweets when they are in A&E. A friend who is a neonatal nurse has to tell parents to stop posting photos of their babies having invasive procedures. Some people are desperate for attention and social media brings out the worst in them.

Attention seeking, that’s my only explanation.

They think people find it interesting. Nobody ever does.

Attention seekers? Some people just love the drama/attention

The ones I find bad are when they post a pic of little jack in a hospital bed with “My poor baby” I mean come on your child is in hospital and your posting on Instagram 🙄 just so they can get there OMG hope his ok hunni comments

To be honest, I would find it equally weird if they posted the reason they were in A and E. Leaving that out is not the odd bit, for me, or at least it's no odder than documenting a trip to hospital when you are presumably unwell or injured, and probably in pain.

SpinningDizzy · 07/05/2019 11:47

Maybe they're bored. I was in A&E for a few hours a while ago, in pain and stuck in a corner with nothing to do and no one to talk to. Being in A&E doesn't mean you're unconscious and neither does it mean you're being treated the whole time you're there. I was seen for 10 mins, left for 2 hours then seen by another doctor, treated, left for 15 then discharged. I did manage to stop myself updating on Facebook although I did text my best friend as I was bored. Oh, and I beat DH's sudoku score Grin

It is odd. Say you are in A&E if you must but don't need to see a picture of it.
