Safest high back booster seat? Car seat hell again!

I’ve done countless lots of research & have installed in my car a ridiculous amount of money worth of RF car seats for my 1 & 3 year old. I struggle making decisions at the best of times so it was bloody frustrating! And expensive. I’m set on RF for ours but need 2 easily transportable HBB.

DD will be starting nursery in September & will turn 4 mid-Sep & I’ll need a high back booster for the pil. And my mum also wants to buy a HBB for her car for now so she can take my DD out.

So - is buying a HBB for under £50 really unsafe? I really can’t afford or justify over £100 on one. Can I have recommendations for safe HBB that won’t break the bank or will I need to suck it up?!

Also, DD is over 18kg / 100 cm

We have two Britax Adventure HBBs from the In Car Safety Centre who sold us all our ERF seats and were very knowledgeable about safety. They're under £50.

@Xiaoxiong I did see them which is what has prompted my post funnily enough! Just wondering if they’d be OK safe enough. Everything else on their website seems to be £100+

www.amazon.co.uk/CYBEX-Solution-X-Fix-Toddler-Group/dp/B00606058A/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?s=gateway&crid=32TICQOB2B4AK&keywords=cybex+car+seats&sprefix=cybex&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1557185482&sr=8-4

If you can, I'd push the boat out and get yourself a Cybex. The difference in quality compared to the Britax Adventure is amazing. Our Britax Adventure was £18 on offer so they do go for much cheaper from time to time and it sure feels cheap.

The Cybex is superb quality, will fit your child for longer and the reclining headrest really works! My child still falls asleep in the car seat and the recline keeps his head supported. He is 145cm and is still very comfortable in it.

I've got a Britax kidfix SL & a britax adventure

Both were replaced after an accident; both go between cars; the kidfix has isofix which mainly stays in my car - the other doesn't and goes between anyone's car that dd happens to be going in.

Both under £100
Dd prefers the kidfix though - she says it's comfortable

The newest Britax hbb they have. They are manufacturers who research car safety and are always improving (some low end just produce, it would seem).

The cybex isofix ones are £85 in mothercare atm and exceptionally good.

We got a Cybex one. Did a lot of looking and it scored well on safety. The newest model was probably about €100 more expensive than the one we got, but the sales assistant told us that the difference was that the new one was width adjustable. Our son is quite petite so this isn't an issue for us.

Hubbys got a maxi cosi rodifix and I've got a recarro seat.

I prefer the recarro but it's a pain in the arse to get in and out the car. Maxi cosi is easy to get in and out and is really light in comparison.

I paid £185 for maxi cosi and £170 for recarro
