This is bloody hayfever isn’t it?

Haven’t had it for years but have been overtaken by itchy, watery eyes, sneezing which is worse when I’m outside or have the windows open and a tickly throat sometimes cough that seems to get worse after I’ve been outside.
I also keep waking up with a blocked up nose (sleep with the window open) and one of my lymph nodes behind my ear is up.
I was hoping it was a cold so it would bugger off quickly but I don’t feel ill or achey and my throat isn’t actually sore...

I’ve got the bastard thing back again haven’t I?! I swear it used to be just a bit of mild sniffling when I had it.

It's okay, you're living in the age of antihistamines. If one doesn't work, try another.

Can’t take them sadly due to another condition. I will have to investigate alternative remedies!

Oh that is bad luck!

Vaseline in the nostrils is surprisingly effective, if you can bear the sensation. Not sure about eyes.

I hope you find something.

Maybe try Pirinase nasal spray. It contains fluticasone propionate, a kind of corticosteroid. It is prescription free. About 15 years ago a doctor suggested that I use this(well actually its equivalent back then) instead of antihistamines and to start early, about March, before allergy season really gets going. It absolutely works. I was a chronic hay fever sufferer and now I barely notice hay fever season.

Thank you both for the suggestions! It’s driving me bananas!

Forgot to say that the instructions say to use 1 to 2 sprays per day. I was told to use 2 sprays and in exceptional cases a second dose later in the day if really suffering.
