It's a little hard lump under the skin. Any clue what it is? Must have had it over a year but I think it's got slightly bigger these last few weeks since carrying my baby around a lot.

It's a ganglion (sp) I would imagine.

Looks like a ganglion to me. I’ve had one for years.

Definitely a ganglion. Leave it, they often reoccur if removed, they often go away on their own anyway :)

Puddingsmummy · 05/05/2019 13:53

Do they have to be removed or do you just stick with it?

Just leave it- the treatment used to be to hit them with the family Bible. Being hit hard with anything will get rid of it- and make you want to vomit with pain! A friend hit hers on a wrought iron gate and I thought she was going to pass out.
I used a tubi-grip on my wrist to offer support when I had one.

Birdie6 · 05/05/2019 14:04

It's either a ganglion ( a fluid filled cyst) or a bony spur ( caused by trauma or arthritis). Either way I'd leave it alone - removing it can just result in another one growing. If it isn't bothering you, let it alone. I've had one for years and it doesn't bother me.

Bunnybigears · 05/05/2019 14:06

A ganglion, I had one on and off for years. Thet investigated removing it as it did cause some restriction to movement but decided against it. They also gave me some sort of injection directly into it which caused be to faint through the pain and did sweet f a to the ganglion. I dont even remember it going away in the end but I dont have it now so it must have.

Doje · 05/05/2019 14:11

Probably a ganglion / cyst of some kind, but all lumps should be checked out by a doctor.

happinessischocolate · 05/05/2019 14:13

If you wear a watch so the strap goes over the lump it'll help it disperse, usually takes a couple of months.

User10fuckingmillion · 05/05/2019 14:13

Get your bible out

Processedpea · 05/05/2019 14:15

There was one like this on Dr pimple popper she drained it but it did come back

Bobbindobbin · 05/05/2019 14:16

You need to whack it with a bible.

pearldeodorant · 05/05/2019 14:22

Don't whack it with a bible, it will most likely come back. Leave it. As a PP said, they can drain them but the recurrence rate is really high and it's just not worth it.

BrokenWing · 05/05/2019 14:32

I had one on the top of my wrist that disappeared eventually and hasn't returned yet, a colleague had one that got very big and gave her problems with her wrist mobility and had it surgically (privately) removed.

It's a leave alone, wait and see thing.

FatandSassy · 05/05/2019 14:46

I had one on my wrist for about a year. Eventually it went. I felt it pop as I was leaning on that wrist to get up out the bath (I'm a fattie) it felt absolutely disgusting!

LadyBahBahBah · 05/05/2019 15:22

I had one on my wrist a couple of years ago and can confirm that whacking it with an iPhone does the trick to get rid 😬

burblife · 05/05/2019 15:49

I had one years ago that grew to the point it was starting to restrict the movement in my wrist. My DH whacked it with a big book and it never came back.

BrigitsBigKnickers · 05/05/2019 16:01

As others have said it looks like a ganglion. I had one years ago that came up in my teens. The doctor tried to aspirate it a few times but it came back. They are usually painless but mine was resting on a nerve and excruciating sometimes so I had surgery to remove it and it never came back.

If it isn't causing any pain I would leave well alone.
