Poo explosions no matter which nappy!

What's the answer?
If we use size 3 nappies then the poo shoots up his back, if we use size 4 nappies then it leaks out his legs.

Help!

Is he wearing a bodysuit? I found that if there wasn't at least an inch space between his bum and bottom of the body suit, the nappy didn't have enough space to expand and so would leak.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 04/05/2019 22:58

We’ve changed to tesco new rascal and friends . Find them great

SophiaLarsen · 04/05/2019 23:00

Which nappies have you tried? Are you changing him often enough. A wet nappy will cause poor to shoot out easier also.

Oh gosh, no exact answer but my boy must be around the same age as yours and I could here him pooing from the next room this morning, ran in expecting a poonami, he had somehow got in on every inch of his nappy but no leakage, some sort of miricale I say haha! I use Aldi or Tesco nappies and not had any major explosions, found some others very thin!

Starlive23 · 04/05/2019 23:39

I loved Aldi nappies up until DD was a year old, but after that they just didn't seem to cope well with the nighttime and the odd poo explosion, so we moved on to Asda nappies and they have been much better especially at night

Puddingsmummy · 05/05/2019 00:15

He's only 15 weeks old, I've tried Aldi, pampers & morrisons. He doesn't wear a vest at night just a babygrow as he would be too warm otherwise.

Would you consider cloth? If not I’ve heard of people using cloth nappy covers over disposable nappies to keep poo contained. I’ve never found a disposable that doesn’t leak

SophiaLarsen · 05/05/2019 10:05

Many cloth nappies have really elasticated leg holes and are more secure than disposable.

Puddingsmummy · 08/05/2019 11:51

Right I've now tried every nappy going and he still pops up his back! What am I doing wrong? Or do i just have to accept my baby poos with an uncontrollable force?!

My baby is like this. Is your baby breastfed? Mine seems to have a serious force coming out of his bum!

BelulahBlanca · 08/05/2019 12:03

Mine has been like that this week- It’s a nightmare how much washing I’m doing.

Dinosforall · 08/05/2019 12:04

Are you pulling them up high enough?

olderthanyouthink · 08/05/2019 12:07

I've switched to cloth and I don't think we've had a poo leak from them yet

Sainsbury's are the only disposable I've used that had elastic (and a kind of pocket) at the back that might help but we never had a big poo in those and didn't like the feel of them so only got them once.

SignedUpJust4This · 08/05/2019 12:07

Sometimes it doesn't matter what nappy you use. Newborns poos are just so runny. Don't worry. Won't be long til you start solids and you get proper little turds that don't explode out so much but smell like a sewer.

Puddingsmummy · 08/05/2019 12:52

Yes he's exclusively breastfed. They come out with such force I don't think anything's going to contain them!
