Pelvic pain

I'm in my 2nd trimester with my 2nd and have been experiencing pelvic pain from early on. I've been to the physio, got a support belt which helps a bit but can't wear it all the time. The pain has been horrific for the last 2 hours, I can't even left my legs enough to walk so have resorted to crawling around. I've tried resting (as much as possible, on my own with DD today), heat pack and now paracetamol. I don't even know what I'm looking for by posting here. I feel so useless as it is. I'm miserable. I can't go on like this, I work full time and my job is physically demanding, I'm exhausted all the time.

You need to go see your doctor to explain where the pain is at ... they may be able to prescribe stronger pain relief that won’t have a negative effect on baby ( maybe even if it’s just something to let you sleep at night ... I was tossing and turning from 21 weeks every 30 mins and my pain wasn’t as bad as yours ... can’t imagine you are getting any sleep ) ... or potentially you may need to be signed of work for a while to rest up ... it’s worth talking to them at least x x

You're right about the sleep thing, I'm really struggling to sleep at the moment which isn't helping. Maybe I will call the doctors.

You poor thing, it's really horrible. Yes please do go to the GP. There's not a great deal that can be done to treat pelvic pain, but you do need to try and rest as much as possible to try and relieve it, and if your job is physically demanding it may help to be signed off, or maybe your employer needs to make adjustments to your job while you're pregnant. I'm sorry I don't have any practical solutions for helping the pain tonight. My physio said "make sure you keep your legs together as much as possible". I thought "it's a bit bloody late for that!"

Hi if you search for my thread "would they induce me for this" you'll see lots of helpful comments about this type of pain.
The gp isn't going to pay much attention to you, in my experience they just say to go back to the physiotherapist and possibly offer a prescription of painkillers.
Is it possible for you to reduce your workload/work from home ever? I work in a nursery so understand it isn't always possible especially in physically demanding jobs, but if it isn't don't leave it like I did because I'm now 30weeks and crying from the agony most days.
I'd call the physio department on Tuesday and get another appointment ASAP.

Oh and someone told me not to use heat use ice! They said the heat can make the area more inflamed whereas the ice will soothe it

Thank you for replies. @BlueBrush your post made me laugh thank you. @mylittlenugget I read your post actually and found it helpful, no option to work from home but if it continues like this may well see if GP can sign me off for some proper rest. Will try ice thank you!

Definitely don't try to push yourself, if you need to rest do it. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy 🎉
