For DM, D.B. and I booked them an amazing weekend away...won’t work with dad because the only time they can go is the end of September and the rugby World Cup is on Hmm Grin

So I need a variety of ace presents (normally do one big and a few small between us) that he will love and are special (he’s bloody ace and deserves some fab bits!)

He likes
-Good quality single malt
-Gin

  • lovely clothes etc (lost a huge amount of work a few years ago and has embraced clothes!)
-Rugby -Music (but won’t go to gigs) -really good food/cheese/wine

He has no hobbies

I feel like we’ve exhausted everything over the years and need some fab ideas!

He lives in N London if that is any help

Tickets to a gin tasting. Or wine tasting.
Afternoon tea.
Dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant.
A behind the scenes tour of Twickenham - I don't know if they do them, but I know they do at Wembley. Tickets to an England Home Nations game.
Go llama walking. This is fun!
Something for the garden, such as bench, bird bath or one of those swingy garden seats. Or a new BBQ or fire pit.

Fortnum and Mason hamper with the bits in he likes. Whiskey tasting or gin tasting tour and a personal shopper at his favourite store?

Decent bottles of scotch
No experiences- they are carp, they take your time and often more money

How much do you want to spend?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 04/05/2019 21:16

Probably spend £500 on a few different things between us so varying budget.

Have got his fave bottle of scotch but open to any other scotch suggestions (he would definitely say you can’t have too much scotch!)

Thanks so much!

John Lewis sell a Dartington crystal whisky glass which you can have inscribed with a message, e.g. Happy 60th Dad from....

Or would he use a penknife/Swiss army tool? There are some really beautiful ones, made of different materials such as walnut wood, something he could use and keep forever and again you can get them inscribed, and there are even specific ones for gardening/fishing/DIY depending what knives/tools would be useful to him www.victorinox.com

A pocket watch

Cufflinks if he wears a shirts

Oh also does he holiday/travel abroad? A posh leather passport holder is nice to keep

Ragwort · 06/05/2019 08:10

I’ve got a lovely crystal glass with ‘Happy 60th’ in my charity shop, no one wants it Grin.

I am around your father’s age and I genuinely think ‘experience’ gifts are much better than more ‘clutter’.

Thank you!
