What does a wasp sting feel like?

I've just been stung for the first time ever. I was bringing washing in to the house and grabbed a tshirt and felt as though I'd put my thumb on the pin of badge, looked up and saw a bloody wasp(First I've seen this year) was on the tshirt.

My thumb still a bit sore and tender but nearly as bad as I expected it would be, and it hasn't really swollen. Is it going to swell up and drop off later?(Slight exaggeration) or did I get lucky? I thought that it'd hurt more than it did.

Apparently, if you have the presence of mind not to swipe away a bee that is stinging you, it will remove the sting and live.

I would bow down and worship anyone who has the self control to do that.

I manged to reach to ripe old age of 45 never being stung by a wasp. Then I had 5 at the same time. I was walking in the woods with friends and our dogs. One of them must have disturbed a nest as the dogsvall started getting stung, I got stung 5 times trying to get them off my dog.

It was really scarey but the stings weren't as bad as I expected and vinegar really helped

I’m jealous of anyone who says wasp stings don’t really hurt.

I’ve been stung on my foot, and in my arm in the last couple of years. It bloody hurt both times, went red and sore for ages, then hot and itchy for about a week. I ended up scratching a hole in my arm where the little bastard got me. Maybe different people react in different ways?

I’m not a complete woos and have a fairly high pain threshold. I’ve run on a broken foot, and given birth without pain relief and no wailing or otherwise.
