I posted in children's health but got no replies and I just want to make sure I'm not worrying over nothing. So posting here for traffic.

My youngest dd is nearly 2 she's healthy in herself but we haven't had an easy time from me being pregnant to her being about a year old. I was a high risk for ds 1 in 12 and 1 in 23 for Edward's and pateus. When she was born at 39+2 she was 5lb and tiny. At 5 weeks old she was diagnosed with reflux and ended up under the peads as gaviscon didn't work by 10 months she finally seemed over that. Not long after she was rushed to hospital after having febrile convulsions caused by a chest infection. I do tend to be a bit overprotective and can worry about small things.
During a development check with the hv i mentioned I was a bit worried about 2 small dimples at the top of her bottom and asked for advice on how to make sure she didn't get sore as none of my other DC had this. I wasn't sure if we needed any extra precautions as it was never mentioned at the hospital after her birth or during midwife checks. The hv looked and said I needed to see the gp as she had slight concerns. We went and the gp said he wasn't overly concerned at the time as the dimples were blind but to go back if she seemed behind developmentally at any point.

Shes walking and talking and seems a bright happy girl but I've started to worry as one of the dimples has become a bit more pronounced and she has started walking on her top toes if shes barefoot which she had stopped doing not long after walking at 13 months. Shes also started dribbling a lot but she has all her teeth so far so definitely isn't teething. She also sounds snuggly and chest at times even though she has no cough or cold. This has been going on for around 3 weeks now and during this times she started snoring quite loud.
She sleeps well often 7 till 7 and can have up to a 3 hr nap most day. She eats well and is active and does well developmentally. She can run and jump and speaks really well.
I don't know if I'm just being a bit paranoid and worrying about small things or if I should take her to get checked out as like I say she well in herself. I can post a pic of the dimple if needed I took 1 in case I take her to gp to save trying to undress her there.

Go to the doctor. Random people on the internet will neither be able to reassure you as you'll always think "what if a doctor would say x" nor to diagnose anything as you've no idea if anyone is a doctor irl or not.

I've known quite a few people with dimples on there back. Is it one at each side? Also a lot of kids walk on top toes. I know a man who still does it to this day. Are you sure she has all her back teeth, there may still be molars coming in.
If you are worried definitely take her to the GP, it's what they are there for.

Thank you for the reply. I worry about taking up an appointment if it's not really justified and taking time away from someone who needed it more.

She did have 2 dimples originally and 2 deep creases that made a v with a dimple at the end of each crease if that makes sense. 1 has almost faded away and the other looks more pronounced and you can see inside where as you couldn't before.
She has 2 sets of molars top and bottom. Her teeth came through in groups so we got through that stage quite quickly.

Both my kids have dimples, both deep. None of the problems you’re talking about are related to having a dimple.

MamaRaisingBoys · 30/04/2019 22:25

My ds(3) is a tiptoe walker. Also snores. Also high risk for ds. Also had severe reflux not helped by Gavisvon.

I think all of these things are relatively normal op?

Vegisgrowingwell · 30/04/2019 22:26

I still walk on tiptoes, it drives my husband mad Grin

MamaRaisingBoys · 30/04/2019 22:27

I do understand why you’re worried though. I obsess over the smallest of things too and have been to the gp with my kids far too many times really Sad

newtlover · 30/04/2019 22:28

well, your hv has suggested you go to your gp, so I suggest you do that
you say she's meeting all milestones so that should be some reassurance. Of all the things you mention, walking on tip toes is the only thing that would worry me but you say she runs and jumps well
just go to the gp !!!

Thank you for the replies. It has helped my ex keeps telling me I'm over cautious with her. None of my older DC have snored like her or started the dribbling after getting all their teeth through or started walking on top toes after stopping. A few people have made comments on it and I started worry.

The Dr suggested you take her back if you were concerned about her development you have said she's developing well. If you are worried take her back to the GP to put your mind at rest.

DH still walks on his toes a bit. Didn't stop him being v sporty or v clever. Thankfully I can't remember him dribbling but DS was a terrible dribbler and always tippy toe walked if he needed a poo.

I'll make an appointment tomorrow and if gp says there is no concerns then I think I'll ask about me getting anxious over her health. I don't want to cause her problems if I'm going to keep worrying over small things with her.
