Have you had her eyes checked? Perhaps it's hormonal and taking the pill would help. It did for me.

Oldmotherhubbardlivesinashoe · 30/04/2019 16:43

It might be worth taking her to get her eyes tested.

FlibbertyGiblets · 30/04/2019 16:44

Another vote for eye test.

Stress can cause headaches, so if she is revising make sure you work in some times to just relax. Also get her eyesight checked if she hasn't had it checked recently and if revising at night that she had adequate lighting.

I wish her lots of luck with her exams, it might be worth informing the school so allowances can be made.

Probably a tension headache. Regular breaks from studying to get outside and switch off. Won't hurt by getting eyes checked.

Check her posture. My DD had this from leaning over her desk every day revising. Saw the physio, got an easel to put her textbook on, paid more attention to keeping her head aligned with her spine not hanging forwards. All better.

I have (had) a lot of headaches. I suggest:

  1. Eyes checked
  2. And/or clear glasses that block blue light when working on a computer.
  3. Regular breaks from looking at a computer screen.
  4. Cut out all dairy, sugar and flour products for a few days: eg porridge/eggs for breakfast, chicken salad, steak and veg - this has by far had the biggest long term impact on my headache- I am not super strict any more but am definitely less inflammed.
  5. Before bed have Epsom salt bath and take a magnesium supplement

Echoing all the others eyes checked first. My dd (17) has had appaling headaches for a while so we took her to get her eyes tested. They found out she has a small prescription and a small muscle weekness in one eye. Her headaches are much better now she has glasses.

If not her eyes take her to see the gp. Could be hormonal.

Is she on the pill? That gave me terrible migraines at that age

DonPablo · 30/04/2019 19:04

All of the above, especially eye tests and posture but is she drinking enough and getting enough down time and sleep?

Fazackerley · 30/04/2019 19:34

I've just tried to massage her neck and shoulders and its agony apparently so I suspect that?

If you look up on YouTube there are massages and stretches to help tension headaches. It’s amazing how painful tension headaches can be! Is she spending lots of time with her head bent forwards over books?

Fazackerley · 30/04/2019 20:09

Yes she's barely stopped revising for weeks. I will look those up thank you.
