I had heard about a Clearance branch of a charity shop quite near to me, so I went to check it out today. I have returned with about 25 tops for me & DC, a coat for me & 1 for DS1 (10), a pair of snow boots for DH & a Fiorelli handbag, all for £10 Shock Most of it is from Next, DP, The White Company etc, although 1 or 2 Primark/Supermarket bits. They had a deal on which was fill a bin liner with clothes for £5 Shock Lots of tat there but good stuff to be found too! Also loads of books, home stuff etc but I didn't look at that in great detail.

Also got (for me) a Boden top, a Jack Wills top, a dress, plus a Joules top & a John Lewis top for DS3 for £7 in another shop!

Super pleased with my bargains Grin

Ah I do love a good chazzy shop! Get most of my clothes there - that and vintage kilo sales which are a ‘thing’ where I live. Grew up skint and learned to sense the presence of bargainous things at jumble sales. Can now ‘work’ a sale in five minutes flat. ‘Tis my superpower.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 29/04/2019 21:41

I spotted, among the tacky modern necklaces, a classic Venetian glass 'wedding cake' necklace for £2.99! I'd wanted one since seeing them at antiques fairs, so I was thrilled to find a perfect one at a fraction of the price.

But I have to search through an awful lot of junk to find anything nice.

I love a good rummage. Grew up on jumble sales and charity shops and tbh I find real shops hard work. Except primary as that's a bit jumble saley anyway lol

I once got my daughter 5 dressing up dresses originally from Disney store from a jumble sale for £1 the lot! She was made up!

East that china is beautiful, I love tea-sets.
No beautiful jacket.

BiBiBirdie · 29/04/2019 22:15

I got a pair of brand new skinny jeans today, originally from New Look for £1 today. Was rather chuffed
Also bought a record for my collection for 50p and turns out it's worth £75.
Do love a good charity shop rummage

A couple of years I got DD an almost unworn M&S duffle coat, a boden top and a lovely jumper for £1 from the 3 for a £1 basket. She's only just grown out of the coat and top and jumper have been passed on to friends

swashbuckles · 29/04/2019 22:22

My people! I have a fabulous on near where I live-went in there the other day feeling a bit sorry for myself, came out with new Next dress, 2 pairs of M&S shoes, a little card game I liked the look of for when friends are round and a lovely handbag -£8.

In my experience the scruffy looking, 'off the beaten track a bit' ones are the best.

Geraniumpink · 29/04/2019 22:24

I love a rummage if I am in the right mood. I have a good collection of cashmere jumpers and cardigans. Also recently some secondhand White Stuff things for the summer. We are lucky enough to live near some fairly affluent areas though. Teen dd also loves to browse with me. It’s a good habit to pass on.

FamilyOfAliens · 29/04/2019 22:30

I bought a pair of barely worn Church's Ketsby ankle boots for £3 from our Salvation Army shop for DD. She didn’t like them so I put them on eBay - they sold for £170 Shock

Geraniumpink · 29/04/2019 22:35

Woah, that’s seriously good bargain hunting, familyofaliens!

FluffySocks123 · 29/04/2019 22:50

I picked up a pair of brand new Sophia Webster butterfly heels for £49 - went home and had a look online they were £450!

Haven't worn them yet but I was SO happy! Can't wait for an excuse to wear them ha

Got a Harrods handbag, which i thought was a fake, for£5. My daughter (handbag expert!) was waxing lyrical about it as it's genuine! Made in Italy, genuine leather, worth a lot apparently. £5!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 30/04/2019 16:13

I did the rounds of the charity shops in the town where my mum lives today wondering if I'd have a bargain to add to this thread.

I did buy one thing ....... a small Pyrex bowl for £1 Hmm.

No joy whatsoever with clothes, bags, shoes. I'm very envious of your finds.
