Thorpe park firsttimer...any tips?

My DDs 10th birthday is coming up soon and I'd like to treat her to a day out. Does anyone have any tips, either to save on ticket prices if any vouchers are available, or general stuff on the day?! Thanks

Download the Thorpe park app before you go so that you can check queue times for each ride. Buy tickets in advance online to save queuing when you arrive. There is a long queue for security on the way into the park, but only if you have bags. If possible, I would get one person to queue with all the bags so that the others can go straight through and start going on rides straight away before the queues start to build up.

You save about the same amount whether you use a voucher on the day or book online in advance.

Things like fast passes and photos etc are all extra and can add up.

The restaurants are pricey, I'd take a packed lunch personally, so you can stop and eat whenever, and then spend a few pounds on ice cream/chips whatever.

It's a really good theme park and not too big. But queues can be long.

In fact if you buy in advance, you then don't have to quie up to buy the tickets on the day :)

there is a ride that you WILL get wet on (Tidal Wave) - and if you're in the splash zone.

So take ponchos/towels to dry off. They will sell them but they're expensive.

Download the app and do the rides she really wants to do 1st, the queues will be smaller at the start and the end of the day. If you get there for opening time you will usually be able to do a couple of the bigger rides with little to no queue. Buying tickets online usually sees quicker queues at entrance as it's usually just scanning a ticket rather than waiting for people to pay.
If you have Tesco club cards you can buy a ticket for £13 worth of Clubcard vouchers.
Take a packed lunch, drinks and snacks to save money.
Depending on budget you could look at the fastpass options?
If there are any disabilities within the group, you can take some medical documentation and said person will receive a wristband along with others in the group to use the disabled access, it massively reduces wait times to almost zero.
Tripadvisor is really good for reviews and tip from other people.
Hope she has a great day.

they have a really cool beach area with a lido so if nice take swim stuff

Another vote for using Tesco ClubCard vouchers to keep entry costs down.

There is a charge for the car park which I didn't realise until we got there. You pay on leaving. £10 on the gate or via QR reader (signs as you leave the Park) £7.

Does your DD like big rides? Thorpe Park is great if so as the majority are quite extreme - well I thought so!

Thorpe is fantastic for those who like white knuckle rides

It's not so great for those who are more timid...you might be better off at Chessington if so.

Queues are mad at both parks unless you can go midweek

Get there early - ideally for bang on opening time
We took a fold up rucksack and carried our water bottles and put stuff in pockets to avoid the bag search queue
Download the app to check queue times - TP is quite compact so it's easy to zip back and forth between the rides
Pay for parking online using the QR code at the exit and save £3
The queue for the front of Stealth is absolutely worth every extra minute Smile
