Being Pregnant on The London Underground without a badge

AJSJ0 · 29/04/2019 09:34

Am I being unreasonable for refusing to give up my seat at 8 weeks pregnant on the London Underground? I was almost forced to get up just because I wasn’t wearing my badge which is still being processed by TFL.

OP can you actually clarify what happened?

If you have name changed and are the poster who returned, why not answer the questions?

Did it look like OP had name changed half way through to anyone else as her posts weren’t highlighted, apart from the OP?

AJSJ0 · 29/04/2019 14:15

Yes correct

I was on the tube yesterday with my very visibly 8 month pregnant daughter. We tried 3 different stations and no badges available. Not one single person gave up their seat either on the tube or the mainline train for her in both directions.

You can get the badges on eBay for not much money if that helps anyone.

Do they say Fuck off I'm pregnant?

They used to say 'Baby On Board' across the tube logo, back in the day.

I was on the tube a minimum of twice daily for my last trimester, seven years ago in fact, I went so overdue I was still up and down on the Piccadilly Line at 41 weeks plus and I'd say I only had to ask for a seat three or four times at most, and that was distraction/tiredness/reading from other people, rather than malice.

Agree with @Thebulb, have done two pregnancies in London and never had a problem on the tube. 2nd time round frequently forgot my badge and early on pre showing a couple of times I had to ask people to give me a seat and they were always very accommodating. Only once person said no and it was because she was also early pregnant and feeling crap - we had a laugh about it and the guy next to her gave me his seat....

What's with the Hmm

People asked questions because they didn't think you had given enough information.

It wasn't to be rude do not sure why the defensive attitude.

Also yes, I'm sure the OP did name change because the OP and the subsequent posts were written by different names. MNHQ must have fixed it, because they were definitely different earlier. Asking if the poster talking about their experience was the OP was a relatively normal thing to do.

Don't really understand the problem OP seems to have.
